“A Kid’s Game” Exhibition in Bethlehem

Opening of the exhibition took place on Thursday, March 9th at Al Kahf Gallery, the International Centre of Bethlehem (Annadwa). Despite the bad weather outside, at the opening we had 50 people, including a fantastic gtroup of kids from AIDA refugee camp in Bethlehem who literally bombarded us with questions wanting to know more about pinhole photography and the situation of the refugees in Lebanon. They were incredible. The exhibition was on at the centre until 3rd April 2006.

exhibition at Bourj Al Shamali

It was a busy day on Friday 2 July 2004 at Beit Atfal Assomoud, the vocational centre at Bourj Al Shamali refugee camp, in the south of Lebanon. A group of doctors were making a study to assess the levels of malnutrition among Palestinian refugee children in the first floor of the centre, during which the measurements of 100 were children were being carried out.

On the floor above, a photography exhibition opened. Around 40 people came to the opening, and a flow of people dropped by curiously to see the photos on the following days.  Giggles were heard from the young photographers. The photography exhibition was showing for the first time the work of 23 kids aged 12 to 14 from the camp, who during one week had learnt the basics of black and white photography.
